Rick Marton
Brand Strategist and Social Analyst
Sold his parents car while they were at work.
He was 9, and made $400 more than asking price.
Rick began Effective Naturally in 2009 (while running a successful events company), after he noticed that many exhibitors at a trade show didn’t know their core purpose or point of difference - two critical factors that underpin a high performing business and culture.
He soon recognised this was a common trend and went back to his hotel that night to start writing a 3 hour program on how to be ‘Effective Naturally’ by using the momentum of brand, purpose and culture. That 3 hour program - initially offered to his event clients - soon signed up long term partner clients setting the foundations for a new type of agency based on a contemporary approach to brand building
Rick’s expertise in brand strategy, entrepreneurship and community engagement has been impactful in a range of community roles including as a Founding Director of Tourism Northern Tasmania, a lead campaigner on the Marriage Equality debate and the Event Director of the 2018 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.
Rick’s an optimist who plans like a pessimist - that means he sees opportunity where others see problems. Ethics and social cohesion are important elements of Rick’s every day life and seeing others succeed sparks his joy!
